Songkhla Committee Meeting: UNESCO Creative City Project Roadmap

On November 4, 2025, at the Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Songkhla Provincial Cultural Office, an official meeting was held for the “City and Community Potential Development Project to Support the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.” The meeting was presided over by the Provincial Cultural Officer, with 27 committee members and relevant stakeholders in attendance.

The primary objective of this session was to present the project’s conceptual framework, operational strategies, and management plans to the contracting authorities and stakeholders for official review and approval. The meeting utilized comprehensive documentation and digital systems to facilitate a highly efficient consultative process.

Key Deliberations of the Meeting

  1. Presentation of the Operational Roadmap: A detailed explanation of the strategic implementation phases of the project.
  2. Review of Project Category Workplans: Ensuring alignment with UNESCO’s specific guidelines and evaluation criteria.
  3. Establishment of Data Collection Protocols: Defining the methodology for field research across the 16 districts to document unique local ingredients and cultural heritage.

Furthermore, the committee discussed the implementation of Phase 1 activities, including the “Songkhla, Creative City of Gastronomy” public relations campaign, the Mascot and Logo Design Competition, Community Storyteller Training, and various workshops aimed at establishing a sustainable urban development plan through the Creative Cities framework.
